The Gaden Shartse Gelugpa Monastery is located in southern India in the region of Karnataka, where it was rebuilt as a replica of the destroyed Shartse Gaden Monastery in Tibet.
It shelters a community of approximately 1,500 monks, aged from 4 to even 100 years, many of them orphans, whom the monastery provides lodging, maintenance and teachings in a complimentary way.

Dear sons and daughters of the Dharma lineage,
I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
We are very fortunate to have the 18 qualities of human life and even luckier, as if we won the lottery of Dharma. Now we must make use of all correctly, listening, analyzing and meditating on Dharma. Thus we study the heart of Dharma that is Lam Rim and subjects of the 5 texts of Nalanda and Ganden, Drepung, Sera. Many yogis have attained enlightenment in this way in the past, and in the present and the future they will also achieve it. It seems as though a dream has been fulfilled, that we do not wake up until we reach enlightenment. Actually there is a considerable degeneration, but it seems like if we were not aware of it. Let’s pray so that next year will give us strength and health to continue practicing the dharma and advance step by step to enlightenment and help all sentient beings, all together as me too. Thus the power of our guru Kyabje Khemsur Tamding Gyatso Rinpoche and the three jewels will give us solutions.
We will also pray for peace, harmony and happiness in this world.
Best wishes with bodhichitta.
